ThermaCELL Earth Scent: Getting Close

When Therma-CELL came out with its scentless mosquito repellent, hunters were skeptical. How could a product repel mosquitoes without spooking deer?

This was especially a concern for bowhunters who make every effort to be scentless so deer will walk within their effective range.

Some of the first hunters to try a Therma-CELL were turkey hunters who quickly realized how well it worked, even in swampy areas with high concentrations of mosquitoes such as Florida and South Carolina's Lowcountry. It wasn't long before these hunters began using the ThermaCELL repellant system during early firearm and bow seasons for deer with great
results.

Now, ThermaCELL has taken their insect repellant a step further by introducing mats with earth cover scent designed to repel mosquitoes and other nagging insects while masking human odors that can alert deer to hunters' presence.

The new earth scent mats work in all of the ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellant units, which operate on a butane cartridge by heating a mat that releases allethrin (synthetic insecticide) along with the scent of musky dirt and decaying leaves.
